It's Not Me, Just Expression

“It’s Not Me, Just Expression” is a thought-provoking and experimental exhibition that offers a safe space for personal expression, reflection, and the creative interpretation of lived experiences as a means of conveying human emotions. The exhibition explores creative interpretation as a beginning of artistic expression for an ongoing process of meaning making through form, feeling and materiality.

This compelling body of work examines human emotions as filtered through personal histories marked by frustration, trauma, and resilience. The artworks go beyond what is visible to express what is deeply felt, using a raw, process-driven approach to explore the complexities of inner experiences. The exhibition responds to the psychological weight of Uganda’s often dehumanizing work environments through paintings that employ a
pragmatic and repetitive approach, treating the canvas as a therapeutic outlet.

The artistic use of unconventional materials, such as automotive paint mixed with thinner and acrylics by the artist reflects a deliberate subversion of traditional media. The exhibition features works that employ industrial substances, typically associated with labour and machinery to re-imagine materiality and reveal fleeting micro-expressions and deeper emotional truths.

Ultimately, “It’s Not Me, Just Expression” invites viewers to engage with the fluid, often overlapping processes of art-making, emotional healing, and self-reflection as a way of positioning art not just as an outcome, but an evolving and restorative experience.

Echoes Of Disorder

Echoes of Disorder presents a compelling body of work that examines how individuals navigate life within their environments. Inspired by the distinct mannerisms of women around him, the artist explores themes of grace, resilience, psychology, and community through the lens of matriarchal authority.

The exhibition features semi-abstract paintings that unravel the intricate complexities of identity, both personal and collective in relation to how such identities shape experiences. Fascinated by the seemingly chaotic yet deeply interconnected nature of personalities and realities, the artist envisions society as a board game, where each individual plays a unique role, their interactions revealing an underlying order within apparent disorder.

Through dynamic compositions, layered textures, and expressive color palettes, Echoes of Disorder captures the tension between individuality and collective existence, inviting viewers to reflect on the invisible threads that bind us together.
